We have been a member of the USA Alliance Française Federation since 1976

How can I become a member?
How do you use my membership fees?
AF DuPage is organized and operated completely by volunteers; therefore, we charge very minimum membership rates. We use membership fees to pay our Alliance Française Federation dues, hire speakers, cover meeting space costs, and send out periodic mailings to keep you informed of current activities.
How often do you meet?
We usually meet once a month for formal meetings with speakers or presentations, and several times per month for our less formal café-conversations. However, you may attend as few or as many events as you like.
Can I participate in AF DuPage if I don't live in DuPage County?
Yes! We have members who live in many different counties throughout the suburbs of Chicago. We try to hold our functions in different areas around the county so everyone can make it to AF DuPage events.
Are all your members fluent in French?
Our membership includes native speakers as well as beginners and all levels in-between. We conduct our meetings in French or French and English and we welcome all who are interested in our group. Guest speakers as well as members come from many different cultural backgrounds providing a rich and diverse experience for all.
Do you teach French classes?
No, but we recommend classes at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and those provided on Links page.
Are you Hiring?
No, we are a small alliance run completely by volunteers. If you are looking for a paid position or an internship, please contact a larger alliance. However, if you would like to volunteer with AF Dupage, please email us as afdupage@gmail.com
